Previously: Five days before the body of a woman is discovered in the library of the Winters’ Family home in Los Angeles, Sister Mary Amethyst was in Blackport, visiting her younger brother, King Onceblack at Sunnybrook Sanitarium. Onceblack, who had suffered a heart attack while incarcerated, was hooked up to a breathing machine and a heart monitor. Sister Amethyst reluctantly told Kong Onceblack that his son “Blanket” had ordered a hit on the life of Miss Vivienne Scarlet. Sister Amethyst added that she feared that “Blanket” had slipped over the edge into insanity. King reacted badly to this news and suffered another heart attack. Later, after doctors attended to him, Sister Amethyst returned to his room and King Onceblack begged his sister to tell “Blanket” that he was sorry for lying to him and for her to tell “Blanket” the truth. Sister Amethyst cried on her brother’s chest as he passed away. Jeffery Tan, along with prostitutes Ginger and Sage, continued to search the back lot of Onceblack Studios for Kevin Kale and “Blanket” Onceblack with no luck. Ginger speculated that whoever attacked Kevin, may have also gotten to “Blanket”, not realizing that “Blanket” was holding Kevin prisoner in a nearby utility closet. Ginger received word from a police detective that the video tape from a Hollywood Blvd. security camera had captured the license plate of the car that Vivienne Scarlet had gotten into the night she disappeared and that they had positively identified the address of the owner of the car. The detective told Ginger that two officers were being dispatched to Winterswind. Meanwhile, actress Maralyn Mauve arrived for an impromptu meeting with her old friend, “Blanket.”. Across town, Colonel Michael Mustard called a shocked Darcy Puce in Blackport and asked her point blank if she was the person who called and gave his niece Melissa information on locating her kidnapped baby. Darcy denied the accusation and wondered if her mother, Lillian Puce, was the one who tipped off Melissa. At Winterswind, the Winters Family had a rare family meal and Kendal Winters convinced her daughter-in-law Amanda that since Jason and Reynard were going to the country club for a golf game, that she should go with her and Taylor for an afternoon of shopping.

“The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree”

FRIDAY, 7:33 PM PST

In the library of Winterswind, the fire in a stone fireplace has almost burnt completely out. On an area rug in front of the fireplace is the lifeless body of woman. On the floor next to the body are a metal fire poker and a white Phantom of the Opera-style half-mask. A trail of muddy footprints leads to the set of open French doors. On a nearby desk is a stack of photographs scattered about. The photographs show Randy Dove and Amanda Winters passionately kissing…

FLASHBACK: FIVE DAYS AGO, 2:07 PM PST

In Richard and Randy Dove's apartment, Melissa Mustard is sitting at a computer, doing a search on the Internet. Randy, who is on his cell phone, comes into the living room. Melissa can’t help but hear Randy’s side of the conversation.

“So you are actually going?” Randy asks. “Sounds like a blast.”

“Don’t you think if I could get out of it, I would?” Amanda Winters tells him. She is lying on the bed in her and Jason's room at Winterswind.

“There could be worse ways to spend your Sunday afternoon.” Randy says.

“Oh yeah? Like what?” Amanda asks.

“You could be going to a lame country club to follow your father around a golf course.” Randy says.

“Playing caddy to daddy, again?” Amanda laughs.

“Ha. Yeah.” Randy says. “And let’s not forget that your father-in-law and husband will be there too. I hate thinking of him having his hands all over that sexy body of yours.”

“That’s sweet.” Amanda says. “But trust me. It’s been a long time since Jason’s touched me.”

“And it better stay that way.” Randy says. He walks past Melissa, who quickly goes back to working on her Internet search. Randy goes into the bedroom as Melissa sits back in the chair and sighs.

“Come on, Ryder, where are you?” She says, when she is startled by the ringing of the doorbell.

“Melissa, can you get that?” Randy shouts from the bedroom.

“Sure.” Melissa says. She turns off the computer monitor and goes to answer the door. Opening the door, Melissa sees Taylor Winters.

“Melissa?” Taylor asks, surprised to see her.

“Taylor, is that you?” Melissa asks. “Goodness, you’ve grown.”

“Well, yeah we kids tend to do that. Is Randy here?” Taylor asks.

“Yes, he’s in the bedroom.” Melissa says.

“Oh.” Taylor says, stretching her neck to see inside. “Can I come in?”

“Yeah, of course.” Melissa smiles. She steps aside so Taylor can enter. Taylor drops her purse on a chair and goes towards the bedroom, as Randy is just coming out into the hallway.

“Hey.” Randy says.

“Hi.” Taylor says. “Can I talk to you about something?”

“Sure, but I was just about to leave. I gotta meet my Dad at the country club.” Randy says.

“I know. I actually have to go shopping with my mom and Amanda, but I need you to do something for me.” Taylor says. She sees Melissa has returned to the computer. “Can we talk in private?”

“Actually, I was just leaving.” Melissa says.

“You don’t have to...” Randy starts to say.

“No, it’s alright.” Melissa smiles. “Taylor, it is great to see you.”

“Yeah.” Taylor says. Melissa hurries across the room, grabs her coat and purse and leaves. Taylor gives Randy a dirty look as soon as Melissa closes the door behind her.

“What?” Randy asks. “My Dad is letting her stay here.”

“Uh huh.” Taylor says.

“Taylor, I really need to get going. Can’t we talk about this later?” Randy asks.

“It’ll just take a minute.” Taylor says.

“Alright.” Randy says, putting on a jacket.

“This morning, I heard Jason on the phone with someone.” Taylor says.

“So?” Randy asks.

“So, he is meeting someone at the country club at three o’clock.” Taylor says.

“Yeah, I am supposed to be there and if you don’t let me go, I am going to be so late.” Randy says, ushering her to the door. “I don’t see what the big deal is.”

“Whoever it is that Jason is meeting with today, he didn’t want my family finding out.” Taylor says.

“No.” Randy says flatly.

“But I didn’t even…” Taylor says.

“No, but you were going to.” Randy says. “So I will stop you before you even ask. I am not going to spy on Jason and see who he is meeting with.”

“C’mon, Randy.” Taylor says.

“No.” Randy says. “What were you doing listening in on your brother’s personal conversation anyway?”

“It wasn’t like I set out to do it. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.” Taylor shrugs.

“Or the wrong place at the wrong time.” Randy says. “If Jason is meeting with this person at the country club and doesn’t want your family finding out about it, I am sure he has a good reason.”

“Yeah, that’s what has me curious.” Taylor says. “C’mon.” She walks up close to him. “Please. I will make it worth your while.”

“Oh yeah?” Randy asks.

“Uh huh.” Taylor says, kissing his cheek. “All you have to do is follow Jason and see who he is meeting with and see if you can hear what they talk about.”

“I am sure it is just business…” Randy says.

“Yeah, but what if it has to do with that woman that Daddy has in the guest house.” Taylor says.

“Alright.” Randy sighs. “But you owe me.” He pulls her close to him. “Big time.” They kiss.

At Onceblack Studios, Jeffery Tan, Ginger, and Sage are in the studio commissary finishing lunch. Jeffery stares out of the window and sees Maralyn Mauve storms out of Prince "Blanket" Onceblack's office. “Maralyn?” Jeffery says, shocked to see her. Jeffery jumps up from the table, startling Sage and Ginger. Jeffery runs out of the commissary.

“Where are you going?” Ginger shouts after him.

“I will be right back.” Jeffery says. He runs across the back lot to catch up to Miss Mauve. Ginger and Sage crowd around the window to watch. Sage continues to much on some chips. “Maralyn!” Jeffery yells. Maralyn Mauve keeps walking. “Maralyn, wait!” Jeffery yells, catching up to her. “What are you doing here?”

“That man is impossible!” Maralyn says, obviously upset. “I don’t know how you work with him.”

“Maralyn, please, stop.” Jeffery says out of breath. “You saw Mr. Onceblack?” Miss Mauve stops.

“Yes, I was just in his office with him.” Maralyn says.

“You were?” Jeffery looks back at the office. “He’s here?”

“Yes, of course he is. Do you think I would be this upset if I hadn’t just seen him? He is the only man on this entire planet who can infuriate me this way.” Maralyn says.

“So, you mean that you just came from Mr. Onceblack’s office and he was there?” Jeffery asks.

“I just told you that!” Maralyn shouts.

“Well, what happened? Why are you so upset?” Jeffery says.

“One guess.” Maralyn says, looking at Jeffery over her oversized sunglasses.

“The Haunting.” Jeffery says.

“Bingo.” Maralyn says.

“You mean he still hasn’t paid you?” Jeffery says.

“No, he hasn’t.” Maralyn says. “And I am this close to hiring an attorney.”

“Maybe you should.” Jeffery mumbles.

“What was that?” She asks.

“Nothing.” Jeffery says. “I will try and talk to Mr. Onceblack and get your money.”

“Yea, but I highly doubt that will do any good.” Maralyn says.

“Why do you say that?” Jeffery asks.

“Because “Blanket” is broke.” Maralyn says.

“What?” Jeffery asks. “What do you mean broke?”

“What does broke usually mean, Jeff?” Maralyn asks, sarcastically. “He doesn’t have any more money.”

“He told you that?” Jeffery asks.

“Yes.” Maralyn says.

“But we’ve got a couple of projects…” Jeffery says.

“You didn’t know?” Maralyn asks.

“Well…” Jeffery says.

“When was the last time you actually got a paycheck from him?” Maralyn asks.

“Well, Mr. Onceblack said he was waiting for a few things to clear his account.” Jeffery says.

“Oh, Jeffery.” Maralyn fakes sympathy. “I’ve probably said too much. You should probably be talking to “Blanket” about this. I mean after he sells the studio…”

“He’s going to sell the studio?” Jeffery says, shocked.

“Oh dear.” Maralyn says. Ginger and Sage join them.

“Jeffery?” Ginger says.

“You’re Maralyn Mauve.” Sage says.

“Yes, I am.” Maralyn says.

“Are you alright?” Ginger asks Jeffery.

“I am afraid I’ve just delivered a bit of unsettling news to poor Jeff.” Maralyn says. “And if I were you two, I would get to the payroll office and get your money.”

“Excuse me?” Ginger asks.

“Maralyn, they aren’t…” Jeffery tries to explain.

“Oh, I just assumed that by the way you were dressed, that you had to be extras in a movie.” Maralyn says.

“What’s wrong with the way I am dressed?” Sage asks Ginger.

“Nothing.” Jeffery says. “There is nothing wrong with your clothes. Maralyn, this is Sage and Ginger. They are friends of Kevin Kale.”

“You?” Maralyn asks. “You two are friends of Kevin Kale.” She begins to laugh hysterically. Then she sees that the three of them aren’t laughing with her. “You are serious.”

“Maralyn, are you sure that Mr. Onceblack wasn’t just trying to buy more time and keep you from calling a lawyer by telling you he is broke and selling the studio?” Jeffery asks. Ginger and Sage look at each other and shrug.

“Could be. I wouldn’t put it past him.” Maralyn says.

“She talked to Mr. Onceblack?” Ginger asks Jeffery.

“Yes, just a few minutes ago.” Maralyn says.

“Where?” Ginger asks.

“In his office.” Mauve says. “Why is everyone so surprised that I had a meeting with “Blanket”? I mean I have worked with him for…”

“He’s here?” Sage asks, cutting Maralyn off.

“According to her.” Jeffery says, motioning to Miss Mauve. They turn away and walk toward Onceblack’s office, leaving Maralyn alone.

“Isn’t someone going to tell me what the hell is going on?” Maralyn asks.

Inside the club house at the Brentwood Country Club, Jason and Reynard Winters are sitting at a bar with Dr. Richard Dove. “I don’t know what could be keeping Randy.” Dr. Dove says.

“Maybe we should just get started without him.” Reynard says. Jason looks at his wrist watch and sees that it is two minutes to three.

“He can catch up with us on the green.” Richard says. The men finish their drinks and stand up. Reynard motions to two young men standing nearby and they hurry over and grab two sets of golf clubs. Jason begins to feel around in his pants pockets.

“Lose something, son?” Reynard asks.

“I think I left my lucky glove in the car.” Jason says.

“I can’t believe you still wear that worn out thing.” Dr. Dove says.

“Whatever works.” Jason smiles. “I will meet you outside.”

“Alright, but if you aren’t back soon, we are teeing off without you.” Reynard says. Jason smiles and hurries out of the club house. Outside in the parking lot, the Private Investigator that Jason hired is waiting for him. Jason sees him and motions for him to come around the side of the club house. Unbeknownst to them, Randy Dove is watching their every move. Randy follows the P.I. to the side of the club house. He stops and watches as they meet by a pool house.

“What are you up to, golden boy?” Randy asks himself. He watches as Jason gets a large envelope from the P.I. Jason looks around and then hands the P.I. a white envelope. The P.I. smiles. “What’s in the envelope?” Randy asks himself. The P.I. leaves the pool area. Randy steps out into the open and Jason sees him.

“Hey.” Jason says when he sees Randy.

“What’s up?” Randy says, joining him. “Decided to go swimming?”

“What?” Jason asks. “Oh. No. I left my lucky glove in the car.”

“Ah.” Randy says. “Well, the last time I checked, the parking lot is that way.”

“Right.” Jason says, trying to hide the envelope behind his back. “I got turned around.” He laughs nervously.

“Really? We’ve been playing golf here with our dad’s every week since we were kids.” Randy says.

“I know.” Jason says. “I just have a lot on my mind.”

“Well come on, I could use a smoke before we join the old men.” Randy says. They walk towards the parking lot. Randy lights up a cigarette as they walk to Jason’s car. Randy watches as Jason puts the envelope on the front seat of the car and closes the door. “Aren’t you forgetting something?” Randy asks.

“What?” Jason asks nervously.

“Glove.” Randy says, putting out his cigarette.

“Oh, right.” Jason opens the car door and gets his lucky driving glove. “Thanks.”

“No problem.” Randy nods.

Back at Onceblack Studios, Jeffery, Ginger, Sage and Maralyn are in “Blanket’s” office. “Well, he’s obviously not here anymore.” Sage says.

“Well, he couldn’t have gotten far.” Ginger says.

“Will someone please explain to me what is going on?” Maralyn says.

“We might as well.” Jeffery says. Ginger nods.

“Well?” Maralyn asks.

“Kevin Kale is missing.” Jeffery tells her.

“What?” Maralyn says. “What do you mean he’s missing?”

“I was at his apartment last night and when I came out of the bathroom, his living room was torn apart and there was a trail of blood leading out the door.” Ginger says. “And Kevin was nowhere to be found.”

“And we thought that whoever ambushed Kevin, might have gotten to Mr. Onceblack.” Sage says.

“I am sure there is a reasonable explanation for all of this.” Maralyn says.

“Well, I will feel better when we find Mr. Onceblack.” Jeffery says.

“So will I.” Ginger says.

“Did he say anything about what he was going to do after your meeting with him?” Jeffery asks Miss Mauve.

“I am afraid I didn’t give him much of a chance.” She says. “I was pretty pissed.”

“And rightly so.” Jeffery says.

“Maybe he went to the soundstage.” Sage says.

“I will try his cell phone again.” Jeffery says. He takes out his cell phone and dials “Blanket’s”. Walking over to “Blanket’s” desk, Jeffery notices the bottom drawer that is usually locked is open. Getting “Blanket’s” voicemail again, Jeffery hangs up and sits down in the desk chair.

“What are you doing?” Ginger says. Jeffery opens the bottom desk drawer wider and sees that it is empty.

“Oh no.” Jeffery says.

“What’s wrong?” Ginger asks, joining Jeffery behind the desk.

“Mr. Onceblack usually keeps a gun in this drawer.” Jeffery says. “But it’s gone.”

Inside the soundstage, a janitor comes to the utility closet, not knowing that Kevin Kale is bound and gagged inside. The janitor opens the door and is shocked to see Kevin lying on the floor. “Mi Dios.” The janitor says in Spanish. Kevin begins to shout through his gag. The janitor hurries over to Kevin and pulls the gag out of his mouth.

“Thank God!” Kevin says. “Hurry, untie me!” He tells the janitor. But the nervous janitor doesn’t understand. “Ropes.” Kevin says trying to show him the ropes tied around his wrists. “Cuerdas.” Kevin says in Spanish.

“Si. Si.” The janitor says, starting to untie the ropes.

“Hurry.” Kevin says as the door opens and “Blanket” appears holding a gun. The janitor stands up.

“No. Por Favor.” The janitor begs. “Please.”

At the country club, Reynard, Jason, Richard and Randy are on their ninth hole. The fact that Randy’s heart isn’t in the game is not lost on Dr. Dove. Randy checks his cell phone for the one hundredth time. “Son, if you have something you would rather be doing…”

“Or someone.” Jason says. Randy elbows him.

“I am sure we could continue the game without you.” Richard says.

“Great!” Randy says. He hurries off of the course. Richard is about to take his shot when Reynard notices that Jason looks a little preoccupied as well.

“Did you want to call it a day too, son?” Reynard asks Jason.

“Really, you wouldn’t mind?” Jason asks.

“I don’t know, what do you think, Richard?” Reynard asks.

“If the young men feel they have something more important to do on a Sunday afternoon than spend time with their fathers,” Richard says, “then who am I to stop them?” He smiles.

“Thanks Dad.” Jason says. “Thank you, Dr. Dove. I will see you at home, Dad.” Jason hurries off of the course.

“I just hope Randy isn’t off to meet with Taylor.” Richard says, turning back to his golf game.

“Well, you don’t have to worry about that, Taylor is shopping with her mother and Amanda.” Reynard reassures him.

“That’s a relief.” Richard says. He takes his swing. “Have you given any more thought about what we discussed the other night?”

“You mean about sending Taylor across the country to live with her Uncle?” Reynard asks. “No, I haven’t given it another thought.” Reynard turns to a caddy and takes out a golf club.

In the soundstage, Jeffery, Ginger, Sage and Maralyn have just entered. “I don’t think he is here.” Sage says. Suddenly, they hear a gunshot from the utility closet.

“That came from over there.” Ginger says. Inside the utility closet, “Blanket” stands over the body of the janitor.

“Now look what you made me do.” “Blanket” says.

“Why are you doing this?” Kevin asks. “Blanket” looks at Kevin.

“You know why.” He says when they hear voices outside the door of the utility closet. “Say a word and you will join our friend here.” “Blanket” walks over to the door and tries to hear.

“What if someone shot Mr. Onceblack?” Ginger asks.

“Well, I am not sticking around to find out.” Sage says.

“Sage is right, we should call the police.” Jeffery says. He takes out his cell phone and dials 911 as the door of the closet opens.

“Put the phone down, Jeffery.” “Blanket” Onceblack says as he steps out of the closet, pointing the gun at them.

“My God, “Blanket”, what are you doing?” Maralyn Mauve asks.

In the parking lot of the country club, Jason hurries to his car. He opens the door and gets in and immediately notices that the envelope is not on the seat. “No.” Jason says, he leans down and looks under the seat. “Where is it?” Meanwhile, outside the gates of the country club, Randy is in his car on his cell phone.

“Yeah, I followed him. He met with some guy and they traded envelopes.” Randy says.

“Did you hear what they were talking about?” Taylor Winter asks.

“No I couldn’t hear what they said.” Randy says, looking at the oversized envelope that Jason got from the P.I. “But Jason isn’t going to be too happy when he realizes that this is gone.”
