Previously: The citizens of Blackport reacted to the news of the murders of Kimberly Brown and Tiffany Aubergine. Mayor Jasper issued a curfew for the entire town, expressing concern that a serial killer is on the loose. Hunter Meadow-Brook, in the meantime, panicked when his mother almost discovered the body of the family’s murdered housekeeper, Rosa Roja. Hunter, after suffering a blackout, stumbled onto the murder of the housekeeper and stashed the body in the family’s freezer fearing he was the person who murdered her. Catherine Grey went to Blackport Memorial Hospital and with the help of an orderly, she switched the DNA sample taken from Mindy Mint with the sample she had taken from Jessie Sumac, who was being held captive by Misty Arugula. Gavin Gold was at the Black Towers Hotel, drowning his sorrow over the death of Kimberly Brown in a bottle of cheap liquor. Gold was joined by his former employer, Elizabeth Peacock-Canary, who invited him up to her hotel suite to drink booze of better quality. Alphonse Brunette arrived at Ivory’s Boarding House to confront Allison Amber. Brunette demanded to know why Allison would tell the police that he had taken Sepia Fallow to the Pine Cone Inn. C.J. Ivory heard them arguing and told Brunette that he, not Allison, was the one who told the police where they could find Sepia. At Tudor Manor, the Black Family was surprised by the arrival of an unexpected visitor -- Madame Chartreuse.
“Through the Looking Glass”
As darkness falls over Blackport, John Boddy silently stares at the fire in the fireplace in his Uncle Hugh’s study. Blanche White enters the study, carrying a tray. “I thought you might be hungry.” Mrs. White says, bringing the tray over to the silent Boddy. “Oh, come now, dear. You can’t honestly believe what that woman says. She can no more predict the future than you or I.” White says, referring to Madame Tiponi Chartreuse. Mrs. White puts the tray on a table and turns to leave.
“You might think differently if you were the one she saw being murdered in her vision.” John says. Mrs. White flips on a light switch and a lamp on the desk illuminates.
“John Boddy, what would your uncle say if he saw you behaving like this?” She walks over to him. Boddy looks up at her round face. “He would say you are being ridiculous, that’s what he would say. And he would tell me to tell you to eat your dinner.” She smiles and takes his hand. “Don’t you think that if I thought for one second that Madame Chartreuse’s premonition was to come true that I wouldn’t have kicked all of those people out of the house, locked the door and thrown away the key?”
“Yes, but…” John starts to say, but Mrs. White stops him.
“But nothing. This family has suffered so much loss, losses that no one could have foreseen.” She leans down and touches his face. “You have nothing to worry about, John.”
“Maybe I am over reacting. Just a little” John says. “But Madame Chartreuse sounded so certain. I mean she came all this way to warn me.”
“Fine. Then we shall heed her warning.” She turns to leave.
“Wait. Where are you going?” John asks.
“I am going to tell all of those people in the dining room they have to go.” Mrs. White says.
“You can’t do that!” John stands up. “Madame Chartreuse didn’t say anything about who is going to murder me, so telling them to leave will sound crazy!” John says. Then he realizes what Mrs. White’s point was. “Oh.” John sits back down. “Alright. I get it.”
“I thought you would. There is not one person in this town, let alone in this house, who would want to hurt you, John.” Mrs. White assures him.
“Yeah, but you could say the same thing about Uncle Hugh, and look how that turned out.” John says.
“John, believe me, you are nothing like your uncle.” Mrs. White smiles at him. “Now eat your dinner before it gets cold.”
In the dining room, the guests are finishing up their dinner as Reginald Ash enters. “Madame Chartreuse, I can show you upstairs to your suite now.” Mrs. White enters the room.
“Thank you, Mr. Ash.” Madame Chartreuse says.
“Did you get enough to eat, dear?” Mrs. White asks her.
“Yes, thank you.” She stands up from the table. “Once again, please let me say how sorry I am to have had to tell such distressing news.”
“No one is blaming you.” Vivienne Scarlet says.
“I just wish I hadn’t had that vision.” Madame Chartreuse says, walking over to Mr. Ash.
“I, for one, am grateful for it.” Coral Black says. Everyone turns to look at her. “Don’t get me wrong. I would never want anything to happen to John, but you got that vision for a reason. I think we should take it as a warning and do everything we can to prevent it from happening.”
“I agree.” Miss Scarlet says.
“Thank you all for being so open-minded.” Madame Chartreuse says.
“This way.” Mr. Ash says. Madame Chartreuse follows him out of the room.
“Open-minded?” Mrs. White says. “John is in there worried sick that he is going to end up being killed, all because that phony tells him she saw it in a vision. It’s ridiculous.” She begins to take plates off of the table. “Honestly, where was she before Miss Emily was strangled?” She takes the plates and goes into the kitchen, leaving the group in stunned silence.
“Coral, I am sorry.” Vivienne says. “Mrs. White is just…”
“You don’t have to apologize for Blanche, dear.” Coral says. “And she does have a point, I just wish Madame Chartreuse would have gotten a vision of Emily’s death, maybe then we could have stopped it.” She slowly stands up from the table. Scarlet and Kevin Kale get up to help her.
“Thanks, Kevin, but I will help her.” Scarlet says. She takes Coral’s arm and they walk out to the hall.
“I do hope John is alright.” Coral says, looking over at the study door.
“Once I help you get settled, I will go and check on him.” Vivienne says. They walk over to the staircase and begin to slowly climb the stairs.
“I’ve been meaning to ask you if you took my advice from the other night.” Coral says.
“Kind of.” Vivienne shrugs. “I am still confused as to what it is I am supposed to be doing, but I did remember something that I think will lead me in the right direction.” Coral smiles at her.
Across town, Hunter Meadow-Brook is driving in his car. He has the radio on and an announcer is talking about the town-wide curfew. “So unless you want to spend the night in jail, you need to be off of the streets before ten p.m.” The announcer says. Hunter pulls into the gates of the Meadow-Brook pond recreation area. He drives past a sign that reads:
“PARK OPEN FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET”
Hunter drives his car up to the edge of the pond. He gets out of the car and hurries to the trunk and opens it. Inside the trunk is the body of Rosa Roja wrapped in plastic. “God forgive me.” Hunter says as he carefully lifts Rosa’s body out of the trunk. He carries the body over to the edge of the water and then hurries back to the trunk and begins to take out bags of sand and rope. Hunter doesn’t realize that parked behind some bushes nearby Catherine Grey and orderly Milo Smalt are sitting in Milo’s car making out.
“I am so glad you met me.” Milo says, breathlessly. He goes back to kissing her neck, when Catherine spots Hunter by the pond.
“What is that guy doing?” Catherine says, sitting up to get a better look.
“What guy?” Milo asks, not taking his lips from her neck.
“The guy over there.” Catherine says. “If I didn’t know better, I’d swear that thing lying on the ground is a person.” Milo lifts his head up and looks over towards the pond.
“It looks like a bunch of trash to me.” Milo says, returning to work on her neck. Catherine continues to watch as Hunter secures the bags of sand to Rosa’s body. Hunter then lifts the body and tosses it into the water.
“Well, whatever it was, he just threw it into the pond.” Catherine says.
“Are you just going to sit there and let me do all the work here?” Milo asks.
“You were doing fine.” Catherine jokes.
“Very funny!” Milo says, unzipping his fly. He takes Catherine’s head and pushes her face into his lap. “Now shut up!”
Back at Tudor Manor, in the hallway of the east wing, Madame Chartreuse follows behind Mr. Ash, passing door after door. “I apologize that your room is so far from the others.”
“It’s probably for the best.” She says. Suddenly, Madame Chartreuse stops outside one of the closed doors.
“Is something wrong?” Ash says, turning to face her. “My word, you’re as white as a sheet.”
“What is this room?” Madame Chartreuse asks.
“Oh, that was Priscilla Sable Black’s sitting room and it was also used as the children’s nursery, I believe. It hasn’t been used for many years. Most of the rooms in this part of the house haven’t been used in a while.” He explains. Madame Chartreuse puts her hand up to the door.
“It’s freezing.” She says. Mr. Ash puts his hand on the door.
“Forgive me, but it feels warm to me. I assure you, all of the rooms are heated.” Ash says.
“Of course.” Madame Chartreuse says, taking her hand from the door.
“Your suite is just down the hall.” Mr. Ash says.
Meanwhile, Coral and Vivienne are in Coral’s room. “Is there anything I can do for you?” Vivienne asks.
“No dear, I am fine.” Coral says.
“Alright, then.” Vivienne says, turning to leave. “Before, I go…” Vivienne turns back to Coral.
“The image of my mother’s face is haunting you, isn’t dear?” Coral asks.
“How, how did you know?” Vivienne asks.
“It painfully obvious.” Coral sits down on the bed.
“It is?” Vivienne asks. “I just don’t understand. If I am not Hugh Black’s daughter, then how do you explain the fact that I look just like Priscilla Black?”
“It’s quite the puzzle, isn’t it? But I think I know where you can find out more information.” Coral says.
“Really? Where?” Scarlet asks.
“In the east wing, the closed off portion of the house, there is a room. It was once used as a nursery for Hugh and Margaret. And later it was a sitting room for my mother.” Coral says. “On a shelf in that room, you will find some journals. Think of them as a family history. I think you may find some answers to your questions in one of the volumes.”
“In the east wing, huh?” Vivienne asks.
At Ivory’s Boarding House, Nurse Pearl Ivory has just returned home from work. The house is eerily quiet as she slips off her coat and hangs it in the closet. “C.J. ?” She calls out as she crosses the living room. “Hello?” She goes into the kitchen. “C.J.?” She calls out again, but the kitchen is empty. She turns to leave the kitchen and runs into Allison Amber. “Amber! Jesus, you startled me!” Pearl says. Allison doesn’t respond. “It sure is quiet around here.” Allison begins to open and close the locket hanging around her neck.

Pearl goes over to the refrigerator and opens the door. “Have you seen C.J. at all today?” She asks Allison, who remains silent. C.J. Ivory then enters through the back door carrying bags of groceries.
“Hey, sis.” C.J. says, pushing the door closed with his foot.
“Here, let me help you.” Pearl says, closing the refrigerator and hurrying over and taking a bag from him. “I was just telling Allison how quiet it is around here. Wasn’t I, Allison?” Pearl asks. Pearl turns and sees that Allison has left the kitchen. “Weird.” Pearl says, putting the bag on the counter. “She was just in here.” She is about to go after Allison and check on her, when the phone on the kitchen wall rings. Pearl goes over and answers it. “Hello?”
“Miss Ivory?” A man asks.
“Yes.” Pearl says.
“You don’t know me, but I have something very urgent to tell you regarding someone you have living in your house.” The man says.
“Excuse me?” Pearl asks, confused.
“The woman you have living in your house is not who she claims to be.” The man says.
“Who is this?” Pearl asks. C.J. comes over to her.
“I am in the lobby of the Black Towers Hotel.” The man says. “Meet me here and I will tell you more.” The man hangs up.
“Who was that?” C.J. asks.
“I have no idea.” Pearl says as she hangs up the phone.
In her mother’s suite at the Black Towers Hotel, Yvette Brunette is lying on the bed reading the file she got from the meeting in the Black Family Crypt when there is a knock on the door. Yvette gets up from the bed and answers the door.
“What are you doing here?” Kirby Canary asks.
“It’s nice to see you to, Kirby.” Yvette says. Kirby pushes her way into the room.
“Is mom here?” Kirby asks.
“No, she’s downstairs having dinner.” Yvette says.
“Oh.” Kirby says.
“Is there something I can do for you?” Yvette asks.
“I highly doubt it.” Kirby says, turning to leave.
“Kirby, I know you and I don’t know each other very well, but don’t you think it’s time that we buried the hatchet and got to know each other?” Yvette asks. Kirby begins to laugh. “What? Did I say something funny?”
“What gives you the impression I would ever want to get know you?” Kirby asks.
“Well, I mean we share a mother, and we’ve spent so many years…” Yvette says, but Kirby stops her.
“Let me stop you right there.” Kirby says. “We share a mother, but that is it. I lived most of my life believing I was an only child, and I liked it that way. When mom finally confessed to my father and me that you even existed, it tore us apart.”
“You can’t blame me for that.” Yvette says.
“I can, and I will. If it wasn’t for you, my parents would never have gotten divorced and my father would still be alive. I just wish mother would have kept the fact she had you a secret!” Kirby yells.
“Kirby!” Corrine Canary shouts from the door of the room. “How dare you talk to your sister like that?” She slams the door. “Apologize to Yvette, now! Corrine demands.
“No, mom it’s alright.” Yvette says. “You don’t have to apologize for how you feel.”
“Yvette…” Corrine says.
“I just thought that it would be nice if you and I got better acquainted.” Yvette says. “But I understand.”
“Well, I for one think it is a wonderful idea for my girls to get to know each other.” Corrine says.
“I have no intention of doing anything of the sort.” Kirby says.
“Kirby, you have to stop blaming Yvette for my mistakes.” Corrine says. “Yvette is no more to blame for my divorce from your father than you are. It was my secrets and deceitful behavior that drove a wedge between us. Yvette is innocent in all of this.” Corrine goes over to a sofa and sits down. “The only person who deserves any blame is me.” Yvette comes over and sits down next to her.
“You had to make some very difficult choices, mom. Keeping the fact that you had me from Albert was something you felt like you had to do.” Yvette says. Corrine looks at Kirby.
“You have no idea how hard it was for me to keep that from your father.” Corrine says. “I still remember how hurt he was when he found out that I had a child with another man. He was devastated. But Kirby, your father forgave me.”
“How can you sit there and say that? He divorced you because of her.” Kirby says.
“Kirby, come and sit down.” Corrine says. Kirby remains standing. “Please.”
“Fine.” Kirby takes off her sweater and sits next to her mother and sister on the sofa.
“Albert and I didn’t divorce over the fact that I had Yvette and didn’t tell him.” Corrine says. “He was very hurt, but over time we managed to get past it.”
“So why did your marriage end?” Yvette asks.
“It isn’t going to be easy for you girls to hear.” Corrine says. “But, if we are ever to become a real family, I need to tell you the truth.”
“This isn’t going to be good, is it?” Kirby asks. Corrine shakes her head.
“My marriage to Albert suffered when he found out that I had kept you a secret, and it took me a long time to earn his trust back. And although Albert said he trusted me, I am afraid the damage was done.” Corrine explains. “One night, Albert followed me. He thought that I was having an affair, you see. So he followed me to a parking lot and watched as I got into a car with a man.”
“What man?” Kirby asks.
“The man your father thought I was sleeping with was in fact a private investigator I had hired.” Corrine tells them.
“A Private Eye?” Yvette asks.
“Yes, I hired the man to help locate someone.” Corrine says.
“Who were you looking for?” Kirby asks.
“My first-born child.” Corrine sighs.
“You aren’t serious?” Kirby asks.
“Yes, I am afraid I am. When Albert found out I kept that I had another child other than Yvette a secret, he became enraged. He demanded that I call off the search.” She tells her stunned daughters.
“And did you stop the search?” Yvette asks.
“Well, I told Albert that I did. But in reality I kept paying the P.I.” She says. “But Albert eventually discovered that I disobeyed him and he filed for divorce.”
“I can’t believe it.” Kirby says. “So not only did you lie about Yvette, but you lied about having another child as well? How many more siblings do I have out there?”
“Kirby, I am so sorry I kept this from you. But I didn’t want to tell you until my child had been found.” Corrine says.
“So, I guess this means you found him or her?” Yvette asks.
“Yes, in fact the baby I gave away is alive and well and living here in Blackport.” Corrine says.
Downstairs, Pearl and C.J. Ivory enter the hotel. “I can’t believe you convinced me to come with you.” C.J. says.
“Aren’t you the least bit curious?” Pearl asks.
“Not really.” C.J. says. Pearl crosses the lobby and sees a man sitting in a chair. The man looks at her and waves her over. Pearl takes a deep breath and goes over to the man, C.J. follows close behind.
“Miss Ivory.” The man says. “Please, have a seat.”
“I don’t think so.” C.J. says. “Who are you?”
“Let me handle this, C.J.” Pearl says. “Who are you?” She repeats her brother’s question.
“My name is Charles Lemon.” The man says. “Dr. Charles Lemon.”
“Alright, Dr. Lemon. What is this urgent information you have to tell us?” C.J. asks.
“Please, if you would just have a seat.” Dr. Lemon says. He motions to a couch. Pearl sits down.
“Fine.” C.J. sits down next to Pearl. Dr. Lemon takes a seat in the chair.
“So, Dr. Lemon what is this all about?” Pearl asks. “I assume the woman you referred to earlier is Allison.”
“Allison, yes, Miss Amber.” Dr. Lemon says.
“You said that Allison is not who she claims to be, what does that mean exactly?” Pearl asks. At that very moment, Pearl, C.J. and Dr. Lemon don’t realize that Allison has just crossed the lobby and gotten into an elevator. Alphonse Brunette then enters the hotel. He hurries across the lobby and stops. He and Pearl see each other.
“Pearl?” Brunette says, coming over to her.
“Alphonse, what are you doing here?” Pearl asks.
“I followed Allison here.” He says. “Have you seen her?”
“Allison is here?” Pearl asks. Dr. Lemon, C.J. and Pearl stand up.
“Yes, I followed her from your place.” Brunette says.
“Why can’t you just leave Allison alone?” C.J. asks.
“You know what, C.J., why don’t you just pipe down.” Alphonse says.
“Guys, come on.” Pearl says, trying to calm them down. “Alphonse, why are you following Allison?”
“Pearl, the police called. They said that Allison’s car was rigged.” He says.
“Rigged? What do you mean?” Pearl asks.
“Someone tampered with the car and made it so that the doors and windows wouldn’t open. They also took the batteries out of the garage door opener.” Alphonse says. “The batteries were found in the trash can outside the garage.”
“Why would someone want to do that to Allison’s car?” Pearl asks.
In her suite at Tudor Manor, Madame Chartreuse is lying in bed, tossing and turning. Slowly she gets out of bed and slips on some bedroom slippers. She goes over to the door of her suite, opens it and looks out into the dark hallway. “Might as well get this over with, otherwise you will never get any sleep.” She steps out into the hall and closes the door behind her. Quietly, she walks down the hall, stopping at the door of Priscilla Black’s sitting room. Madame Chartreuse takes her hand and puts it up to the door. “It’s so cold.” She says. She takes her hand and puts it on the doorknob and slowly turns the knob. The door creaks as it opens, and Madame Chartreuse is greeted by a musty smell. Chartreuse is a bit surprised to find that the room isn’t cold at all. She enters the room, flips a light switch and closes the door behind her. As soon as she enters, she is overcome by a feeling of dread and her heart begins to race. “What is it about this room that makes me feel so uneasy?” She asks herself. Chartreuse goes to the center of the room and takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Suddenly, she gets the feeling that she is not alone in the room and the temperature drops. She turns her head and sees the large mirror hanging on the wall. She goes over to the mirror and looks at her reflection. A tingling sensation comes over her as the mirror image begins a strange metamorphosis. Chartreuse is surprised that the room reflected in the mirror has changed. She tries to move, but a strange force is keeping her from being able to do so. In the mirror, Madame Chartreuse sees Blanche White, dressed in a maid’s uniform, making a bed. Chartreuse turns and looks behind her, but the bed and Mrs. White are not in the room with her, it is only in the mirror. Chartreuse turns back to the mirror and watches as an elderly man enters the room.
“Dear, what are you doing up here?” The man asks Blanche.
“I would think it is obvious what I am doing.” Mrs. White snaps.
“I can see that you are making up the bed, but why?” The man asks.
“Because, she would want the bed made.” Blanche says as she walks around the bed and tucks in the sheets.
“But she is gone, Blanche.” The man says. Mrs. White stops making the bed and looks up at the man.
“I have made up this bed every day for the past thirty years.” She says.
“And I know Coral appreciated it.” He says. “But you don’t have to do it anymore.”
“Yes, I do.” She says, returning to her work. The image in the mirror fades and the force that was keeping Madame Chartreuse from being able to move has released her. The temperature of the room returns to normal.
Downstairs, John Boddy is still sitting in the study, staring at the fire. The tray of food Mrs. White brought hasn’t been touched. The door opens and Miss Scarlet enter. “Hey.” Scarlet says, closing the door. “You alright?”
“Yeah.” John says.
“You didn’t eat dinner.” Vivienne walks over to him and takes a seat.
“I don’t have much of an appetite.” John looks at her.
“Hey, come on. It’s not going to do you any good to sit in here all by yourself and worry about it.” Vivienne says.
“It?” John asks. “You mean my murder?”
“That’s not what I…” Scarlet stumbles over her words.
“I know.” John says. “I know it’s crazy for me to be acting like this, but how would you feel?”
“I would probably feel the same way you do.” Scarlet says.
“Thank you.” John says, he gets up and walks over to a window.
“So, what can I do to help you?” She asks.
“I guess you could start by taking any item that could be used as a weapon out of the house.” John says.
“Funny.” Scarlet says. John looks at her.
“I’m not kidding.” He says.
Meanwhile, in the servant’s quarters, Mr. Ash is sitting at a desk. He has a list of names on a sheet of paper in front of him. Some of the names are crossed out. “So many lost souls.” He says to himself as the phone rings. “Hello?” Ash answers.
“I thought you would like to know that Carrie Bluebell has regained consciousness.” The person on the phone says.
“That is good news.” Ash says. He hangs up. He goes to the list and checks Carrie Bluebell’s name. “Hmm.” Ash says. “That is interesting.” He picks up the list. “Miss Bluebell is the only person who was in attendance at the Founder’s Day party to survive who did not have the antidote.” Hunter Meadow-Brook is just leaving the Meadow-Brook pond recreation area when his cell phone rings.
“Hunter Meadow-Brook.” He answers.
“Mr. Meadow-Brook, this is Dr. Snowden calling from Blackport Memorial.” The doctor says. “I just wanted to let you know that Miss Bluebell is awake and she is asking for you.”
“She’s awake?” Hunter asks. “That’s great! I am on my way. Thank you for calling Dr. Snowden.”
In a hallway outside Corrine Canary’s hotel suite, Kirby Canary is waiting at the elevator. “Kirby, please wait.” Corrine says, joining her.
“Mom, I really just need time to think.” Kirby says.
“I know this is a lot to take in.” Corrine says. “Please, can we go get some coffee and talk?”
“Fine.” Kirby sighs, as the elevator doors open. Allison Amber steps out as they get into the elevator. The doors close and Allison begins to open and close her locket.

In Corrine’s suite, Yvette is in the bathroom and the shower is running. She removes a white robe and gets into the shower. In the main room of the suite, the door slowly opens.
In the east wing of Tudor Manor, Vivienne Scarlet is walking down the hallway, looking for Priscilla Black’s sitting room. She comes to a door and opens it. Immediately, Vivienne feels that this is the right room and goes in. She turns on a light switch and the lights come on. In the room are various children’s toys and furniture covered in sheets. Across the room is a little alcove, with shelves and a rocking chair. Vivienne sees a large mirror hanging on a wall. She goes over to the mirror and frowns at her reflection. Vivienne can see the shelves in the alcove behind reflected in the mirror. She turns and walks over to the alcove. She sees rows of books on the shelves. She tilts her head to read the titles on the spines of the books. “Black Family History, Volume 1.” She reads from the spine of a large book. Carefully, Vivienne removes the book from the shelf. “Jeeze, you’re heavy.” She says. She takes the volume with her to the rocking chair and takes a seat. Behind the chair is a reading lamp. Vivienne reaches over and turns on the lamp. “Let’s see what we can uncover.” She opens the dusty book and begins reading.
In Elizabeth Peacock-Canary’s suite, Gavin Gold lies in bed with Elizabeth in his arms. On a coffee table are empty bottles of scotch. “Are you alright?” Elizabeth asks.
“Yeah, why?” Gavin asks.
“I just don’t want this to get awkward.” She says.
“Awkward? What could be awkward about us sleeping together? I’ve known you since I was fourteen years old.” Gavin says. “I mean, I’ve fantasized about being with you.”
“You’ve had fantasies about me?” She asks. “What kind of fantasies?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He smiles. Just then his cell phone rings.
“Let it go to voicemail.” Elizabeth says, kissing his chest.
“It might be about Jessie.” Gavin says. He leans over and reaches for his phone. “Hello?”
“Mr. Gold. This is Detective Garnet.” Detective Shauna Garnet says.
“Yes Detective.” Gavin says, sitting up.
“Mr. Gold, we picked up a young woman who was wandering the streets. She matches the description of Jessica Sumac.”
“I will be right there.” Gavin says. He hangs up. “They found a girl wandering around, it could be Jessie.” He tells Elizabeth. She gets off of him and he stands up. “Where are my pants?” He asks.
“Over on the couch.” Elizabeth says. “Are you alright to drive?” She asks. Gavin stumbles to the couch to get his clothes.
“I’m fine.” He says.
“Here, I will call downstairs for a cab.” Elizabeth says. She picks up the phone.
“Thanks.” Gavin says, slipping on his pants.
At Tudor Manor, Madame Chartreuse has gotten dressed and packed her bag. She is sitting on the edge of the bed, thinking about the strange occurrence in the room down the hall. “You will just explain to them that you got called away.” She says to herself. “They will understand. I am sure they will be delighted that you are leaving.” She stands up from the bed. But the feeling she had when she was in the sitting room haunts her. Not being able to ignore the urge, she leaves her suite and goes down the hall to the room once again. She opens the door and goes inside unaware that Vivienne Scarlet has fallen asleep in the rocking chair. Chartreuse goes over to the mirror and looks into it. Sure enough, the room’s temperature drops and the reflection in the mirror changes once again. Chartreuse watches as John Boddy enters the room. But John’s appearance is quite different. His hair is somewhat longer and he is wearing a leather jacket. Chartreuse watches as John goes over to a bureau and opens a drawer. He begins to rummage through the drawer apparently looking for something.
“What are you doing in here?” Blanche White shouts from the door of the room. Boddy turns and smiles at Mrs. White. “Don’t look at me that way!” Blanche hurries over to him. “You have been told you are never to come into this room!”
“I will leave, Mrs. White, just as soon as I find what I am looking for.” John says.
“You will never find it.” Blanche says. “Now get out!”
“What did you do with it?” John asks.
“I will do whatever it takes to protect Coral.” Blanche says. John slams the drawer and begins to laugh. “What are you laughing at?”
“I am laughing at you.” John says. “You have got your part down pat, I will give you that.”
“Your uncle has made it very clear that you are not wanted here, why don’t you just do us all a favor and leave?” Blanche shouts.
“Mrs. White!” A voice shouts from the door of the room. John and Mrs. White turn and see Hugh Black standing at the door. Madame Chartreuse gasps.
“Dr. Black, I am sorry, but he was in here going through Coral’s things.” She explains.
“I thought I made it clear that no one is to come into this room again!” Hugh shouts. “You both say you want to honor the memory of my sister, yet you continue to come in here.”
“I am very sorry, Dr. Black.” Mrs. White says. She hurries out of the room. John turns back to the bureau.
“Don’t even think about it!” Hugh says. John turns to face his uncle. “After Coral’s funeral, I want you out of this house, is that understood?”
“Uncle Hugh, you can’t just throw me out.” John says.
“Of course I can.” Hugh says. “Now get out of this room!” John turns and leaves his uncle alone in the room.
“Oh, Coral,” Hugh says as he goes over to a portrait of Coral Black that is hanging on the wall, “how I wish you were here.” He leaves the room. Madame Chartreuse is still watching in the mirror when suddenly she grabs her head and collapses to the floor. The image in the mirror fades. Across the room, Vivienne Scarlet wakes up. She rubs her eyes and immediately realizes something is different about the room. She gets up from the rocking chair and goes to the center of the room. Instead of children’s toys and old furniture covered in sheets she sees newer furniture and a large bed. She then sees the large portrait of Coral Black hanging on the wall. Confused, she goes over to the portrait and looks up at it.
“Who are you and what are you doing in this room?” A voice calls out. Vivienne slowly turns and is stunned to see her deceased cousin, Emily Peach.
