Coral Black was an only child for the first 14 years of her life and she liked it that
way. Much to her dismay, Coral's mother announced she was expecting twins.
Sadly, one of the babies was presumed to have died at childbirth. Coral, however
grew to love her brother Hugh. A few years later, Coral's mother had another
baby, a girl named Margaret. Being lonely children, confined to the family estate,
Coral had nannies and never attended a real school. As the children grew, they
began to resent one another. Sadly, their parents divorced and their mother left
without a trace. Once their father died a year later, Coral cut herself off from her
siblings. In 1975, she moved to Georgia to start a life outside of the family.
Although Coral never married, she dated several men over a period of a few
years. In 1981, Coral secretly gave birth to twins. She gave them up for adoption,
not wanting to take on the responsibility of raising children. In 2004, Coral's health
started to decline and she was no longer able to live alone. Her doctor
recommended that she move in with her estranged brother, Hugh Black. Hugh
was somewhat reluctant to have Coral live with him. He was persuaded by his
fiancee, Mrs. Silver, to let his ailing sister move into Tudor Manor. A full-time
nurse was hired and Coral's condition improved. A new relationship formed
bewteen Hugh and Coral. They spent time reminiscing about their childhood
and their late sister, Margaret. Coral never mentioned the children she gave
away.
